stand up girls

Resilience.

     Self-confidence.

    Character.

 Grit.

    Community.

   Friendship.

         Courage.

Stand Up Girls learn to stand up for the big things.

Stand Up Girls is for girls in grades 2-6. Our group empowers young girls to stand up:

  • For themselves (conflict resolution and self-esteem)

  • For others (anti-bullying and valuing diversity)

  • As leaders in their community (leadership skills and public speaking)

Monthly sessions with the girls and a parent provide opportunities to spend dedicated time talking, engaging in activities and building a community together. We frequently host guest speakers, mostly local women who run businesses or have valuable skills and experiences to share with the girls.

Girls develop the tools they need to stand up for themselves, for others, for what they believe in and for what’s right.

Each SUG workshop provides a platform to talk about important subjects that all too often fall by the wayside because life is so busy. Parents and girls participate in role-play and thoughtful, smart conversations. We often hear from parents that SUG provides a valuable service, helping to start a dialogue with their daughters about a difficult subject. We help girls and their parents navigate and normalize the ups and downs together as a team.

We build resilience in our girls, teaching them self-respect.

Stand Up Girls stand up for themselves.

Girls are encouraged to develop new friendships and strengthen existing ones.

Stand Up Girls stand up for others.

Speakers, mentors and activities model social engagement and public service.

Stand Up Girls stand up for what’s right.
